A Sacrifice Without Blemish…

In the book of Leviticus 1,2&3, The Lord spoke to Moses in detail about how the Israelites should offer different kinds of sacrifices unto Him(God). The process were different depending on the kind of animal or sacrificial object used however one thing remained the same, which was the NATURE of that particular offering/sacrifice. Two words God used were “WITHOUT BLEMISH”. The sacrificial product had to be without blemish.
Which I believe means, without contamination.

What happened in the olden days was when someone offered contaminated or blemish sacrifice unto God, the offering were rejected. An example was Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:3-8); Cain presented bad fruits as sacrifice and Abel presented the first born of his flock and their fat. The Bible says God did not respect Cain’s offering but He respected Abel’s and out of jealousy Cain killed his brother.

Now, fast forward to our days; of course we don’t cut the head of goats and other animals to sacrifice to the Lord (Praise God for the last lamb that was slain, JESUS CHRIST). However, in Romans 12:1 it says “I beseech you brethens therefore by the mercies of God, ye offer your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service”

Our bodies are our sacrifice to God now. The way we treat our bodies while presenting them to God will determine wether our sacrifice would be accepted or not and wether the Lord would respect us or not. Most of us (especially some believers, yep! believers) are offering BLEMISH, CONTAMINATED offerings to God. One would ask, how? By fornicating, lying, gossiping, smoking, adultery, worrying (yes worrying too is a sin.. Another topic for another day) etc.

Why would you lay with a man/woman who isn’t your husband/wife then turn up in church Sunday and raise your hands to a Holy God? Why would you entertain/spread gossip with your lips then open the same mouth to praise a Holy God? Why would you smoke your organs to ashes then expect your body to be acceptable by a Holy God?
In 1 Peter 1:16 it says “Be Ye holy, for I am Holy”

It doesn’t matter the title we carry in the Kingdom of God if we’re not offering our bodies holy and acceptable unto God we will be rejected.
I used to fornicate then attend church service. Sermons on purity irritated me until the Lord changed my heart. (As the Lord leads me I’ll share my testimony soon). The bible talks about our bodies been the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19) and in 1 Corinthians 3:17 it says “he who defiles the temple of God, God will destroy that person”
We must stop been lukewarm, God hates that. Revelation 3:16.

Point is, we will not be able to fully accomplish our God-given purposes if we continue to live and enjoy sin. Also I believe there are certain prayers God will not answer unless we turn from our sinful ways. God’s word never changes. Our sacrifices/offering must be WITHOUT BLEMISH.

Through prayer ask the Lord for help if you’re struggling with this. Ask for forgiveness DAILY and be ready to repent. He loves you so much and ever ready to change your heart if you let Him. It won’t be easy but He is faithful to carry you through.
