“Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; And in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents”
God had commanded Moses to tell the children of Israel this would be a sign, when He wants them to journey and when He wants them to remain still. When the cloud settled on the tabernacle they were to stay still and set up camp and when it was lifted up, they were to move.
My question is, are we spiritually alert enough to know when God is telling us to be still and when He wants us to move? Are we spiritually alert enough to discern the difference?
We are such an impatient generation. We want things the way we want it and we want it now; quick money, quick relationship, quick promotion, quick everything. We don’t care who we hurt on the way or how we get our desires as long as we get it now, we’re okay with it.
Reading further in versus 22 of same chapter, it states no matter how long the cloud remained on the tabernacle the children of Israel stayed in camp and did not move. Wether the cloud stayed on for days, weeks, months even a year, they obeyed by not moving.
We must also be able to discern when God is commanding us to move. Remaining still when He’s telling you to move could be equally as dangerous as moving when He’s telling you to be still. You could miss His blessings at the time He would want you to receive.
Now, He’s a generous and loving father so He’d always give us chances to experience His goodness but we’d need to go through the entire cycle again.
Get to know Him well so you’re brave enough to move in His timing even when things don’t look perfect. Remember ‘good timing’ may not be God’s timing.
The only way we would be spiritual alert to know His timing is by spending uninterrupted time with Him DAILY.
“My Sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me” John 10:27.
Are you hearing His voice? And more importantly are you following and obeying Him?
If only we could spend time with Him, we would discern His directions.
Don’t go ahead of Him and be sure not to miss His timing either.
I’m praying for you.
