Anger is an emotion we all feel sometimes. As believers, it is very important for us to learn how to control this emotion, as it could lead to regrettable consequences.
In Numbers 20:2-5, the Israelites complained (once again) of thirst. They had no water to drink and as always they contended with their leaders, Moses and Aaron. The leaders went before the Lord and were given clear instructions on what to do. Due to anger and frustration, Moses disobeyed and did his own thing. Even though provision (water) was granted, in the end it cost Moses EVERYTHING he had worked for; he would not lead the Israelites to the promised land.
“And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe me, to hallow me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land of which I have promised them” Numbers 20:12.
How sad it is, to allow a moment of anger to cost you your future and blessings. One could say Moses had an excuse in versus 1 of same chapter, he had lost his sister, Mariam. However, there isn’t an excuse good enough to disobey God’s instructions.
You may think you have an excuse to stay angry but the Holy Spirit is telling you to let go of that anger, lest it cost you your blessings.
“Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools”
Today, ask God to remove and replace the anger in your heart with love and obedience.
I’m praying for you.
