Give Me A Man!..

A few days ago during my Quiet Time, I was reading the book of 1 Samuel 8 and felt the Lord lay on my heart to write this post. I believe this was for me to reflect on my past (in a good way) and also a lesson for my single sisters out there.

So, in the scripture, the children of Israel demanded a king from Samuel.
This displeased Samuel as they already had a King, God.
Like the wise old man that Samuel was, he took their request to God. And just like Samuel, God was not pleased.

1 Samuel 8:7 & 9

“And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.
(9)……….. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behaviour of the king who will reign over them.”

Reading further, by the revelation of God, Samuel foretold what Israel’s new king would be like; his behaviour towards the people.
The Lord warned Israel that their demand was against His will and there would be destruction if they choose that path. Did they listen? Nooooooo! They went ahead and chose the path of destruction.

1 Samuel 8:19 & 20

“Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us,
(20) that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.”

Honestly reading that, I had one of those “No wayyyyyyy!” moments. Really, I did! I could not understand why anyone would go ahead in making such a decision knowing very well of the consequences.

Although, before I got all judgemental, the Holy Spirit reminded me of decisions I had made in the past especially in relationships.

God warned me countless of times not to enter certain relationships but I didn’t listen. Even after my disobedience, His warnings did not cease. I ignored them all and as a result, I ended up with a broken-heart, soul-ties, physical and emotional scars. Was it worth it?

Absolutely 100% NO! I wasted my time and theirs.

It hurts me to see some ladies going down the same path as I did.
God is showing you in every way not to get involved with that man but you have blocked your ears.

The relationship is draining you so much yet your desperate need for a man won’t let you leave.
Like the Israelites you tell yourself, “At least I would have a man like everyone else”.

Wait, who told you having a worldly man is better than having no man?

Stop looking for man and look for God. Stop giving God ultimatums like “Get Me A  Man or I stop serving You”. You know what? I am yet to read the scripture that says get saved and get a spouse.

If you are not careful you will end up frustrated while hunting for a man; which in turn will lead to destruction. That man will not love you as Christ loves the church and NO marrying him won’t make things any easier. IT WILL GET WORSE!

It is never too late to make the right decision if you are in an ungodly relationship.
Sis, leave that man alone and get back to the will of God.

Matthew 6:33

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

I must say this, It is not a bad thing to desire a godly man or marriage; it becomes a sin when one idolises it.

Our focus should be on Christ.

Quit worrying whether you would find someone. When you wholeheartedly focus on Christ He will bring a man after His very own heart into your life, if that is His will for you.

Hear this sis, throwing your pearls before swine is NOT an option for you.

YOU ARE DIFFERENT! YOU ARE ROYALTY! DAUGHTER OF THE KING OF KINGS. YOU WERE HAND-MADE AND CRAFTED BY THE MOST-HIGH. YOU HAVE BEEN BOUGHT WITH A PRICE, WHICH IS THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

Don’t disregard The blood by settling with just any man for the sake of loneliness, biological-clock or whatever else.
You must see and treat yourself as the Queen that you are.
Your purpose depend on it, Eternity depend on it.

2 Corinthians 6:14

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”.

I’m praying for you.

Blessings,
